چکیده

The C 1 coal of Latest Permian during mass extinction in eastern Yunnan was studied to reveal the terrestrial paleoenvironment and influence geological events on coal-formation extinction. An analysis Rare Earth Elements (REEs) conducted from Yantang Mine Xuanwei, Province, which deposited latest Permian. A total 24 samples coals, partings, roofs floors were taken fresh face underground mine. results REEs indicated that REE content (∑REE) varies 23.99 μg/g 267.94 μg/g, averaged 122.69 μg/g. is enriched light (LREE) relative heavy (HREE), signifying fractionation between LREE HREE. Most seam are depleted Eu various degrees slightly Ce, especially two partings sub-seams B 3 show significant negative anomalies. geochemical characteristics a weak oxidation environment; sedimentary environment turbulent middle-later stage coal-forming process; affected by basalt clastic materials Khangdian Oldland acidic synsedimentary volcanic ash period. The Marine Geochemistry of the Rare Earth Elements

Novel methods were developed for the determination of 12 of the 14 Rare Earth Elements (REE) in seawater. Initial extractions of the REE by chelating ion exchange chromatography is followed by cation exchange for removal of co-extracted U and remaining traces of major ions. Finally traces of U are removed by anion exchange before irradiation for 8 hours at a flux of 5 x 1013 neutrons.cm-2 .sec~...

the effect of e-64 on the developmental competence of sheep cocs during in vitro maturation

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.

Volcanic perturbations of the marine environment in South China preceding the latest Permian mass extinction and their biotic effects.

The Dongpan section in southern Guangxi Province records the influence of local volcanic activity on marine sedimentation at intermediate water depths (~200-500 m) in the Nanpanjiang Basin (South China) during the late Permian crisis. We analyzed ~100 samples over a 12-m-thick interval, generating palynological, paleobiological, and geochemical datasets to investigate the nature and causes of e...

Rare Earth Elements in Soils of Jharia Coal Field

There are many sources trough which the soil get enriched and contaminated with REEs. The determination of REEs in environmental samples has been limited because of the lack of sensitive analytical techniques. Soil samples were collected from four sites including open cast coal mine, natural coal burning, coal washery and control in the coal field located in Dhanbad, India. Total concentrations...

Calibrating the end-Permian mass extinction.

The end-Permian mass extinction was the most severe biodiversity crisis in Earth history. To better constrain the timing, and ultimately the causes of this event, we collected a suite of geochronologic, isotopic, and biostratigraphic data on several well-preserved sedimentary sections in South China. High-precision U-Pb dating reveals that the extinction peak occurred just before 252.28 ± 0.08 ...
